Key Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor 4–5 SAP Basis resources, providing technical leadership and day-to-day operational oversight.
- Oversee third-party vendors and managed service providers, ensuring delivery quality, SLAs, and project outcomes.
- Perform hands-on SAP Basis administration including installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and system refreshes.
- Manage and support SAP landscapes including S/4HANA, ECC, BW, Solution Manager, and other SAP components.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity across global SAP environments.
- Plan and execute SAP upgrades, migrations, and system conversions, including HANA-related initiatives.
- Lead transport management, system copies, and client administration activities.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, database, and application teams to maintain a stable SAP platform.
- Support global SAP projects, implementations, and system rollouts.
- Establish and maintain standard operating procedures, documentation, and operational best practices.
- Provide escalation support for critical production issues when required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 10+ years of SAP Basis experience with 3+ years in a leadership or team management role.
- Strong hands-on SAP Basis administration experience in complex enterprise environments.
- Experience supporting SAP S/4HANA and HANA database environments.
- Proven experience with SAP upgrades, kernel upgrades, EHP upgrades, and system migrations.
- Strong knowledge of:
- SAP NetWeaver architecture
- SAP Transport Management System (TMS)
- System monitoring and performance tuning
- SAP system landscape management
- Experience working with managed service providers and offshore support teams.
Must have experience supporting global business operations across multiple time zones and providing 24/7 service availability.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SAP cloud environments (AWS, Azure).
- Familiarity with SAP Solution Manager and monitoring tools.
- Knowledge of automation or scripting (Shell, Python, Ansible).
- SAP certification in SAP Basis or HANA administration.
