SCIENTIST II R&D SELF CARE (OTC PRODUCTS PHARMACOTECHNICIAN) – BRAZIL
This position reports to Coordinator/Manager R&D Self Care (focused on OTC products) and is based at São José dos Campos, Brazil.

What you will do
The Scientist II Self Care (OTC Products) – Brazil will be a pharmacotechnician responsible to execute with excellence the continued development of the regional pipeline guaranteeing the delivery of solutions that address consumer and HCP needs and contributing to the growth of this Franchise regionally. It is important to present both technical skills in the pharma industry and also leadership skills in the planning and execution of the projects. Good communication skills, intellectual curiosity and ability to reason risk-benefits when taking decisions .
Key Responsibilities
• Design and Technical execution for OTC New Product Implementation and Life Cycle Management, pro-actively contributing to critical analysis and technical recommendations during the developments. Has E2E view for project execution, from inception to implementation.
• Be active player on cross functional teams as a Product Development, bringing technical discussions, evaluating complexity, risk taking and decision making supported on data analysis.
• Ensures compliance with internal guidelines and external Legal Authorities regulations as ANVISA, COFEPRIS, and as differential FDA and EMA.
• Development and reformulation of solid formulations such as tablets, including wet granulation, direct compression and coating technologies, both with formula and manufacturing process on a laboratory and factory scale.
• Performs Due diligence reviews with deep technical analysis to evaluate external opportunities aligned with the need state business strategy.
• Close collaboration with stakeholders (Regulatory Affairs, Analytical, Medical Affairs, Marketing, Supply Chain and Analytical Analysts) to act as a team player driving innovation and problem-solving.
What we are looking for
Required Qualifications
•Education: Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, chemistry or scientific related areas.
• Advanced English.
• 2-3 years of hands-on experience in new pharmaceutical products development and/or product reformulation.
• Knowledge and experience with regulatory requirements including ANVISA, COFEPRIS, ICH, FDA, EMA and compendia (e.g. USP, JP, EP, etc.) is preferred.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking and technical writing skills.
• Availability to work in São José dos Campos/SP at least 3x per week.
