The Senior Category Insights Analyst is responsible for supporting the Senior Category Insights Manger with unbiased strategic and tactical insights and recommendations to assist the Walmart Merchants with Online and In-Store, Distribution, Shelving, Merchandising, and Promotional opportunities to improve and drive category performance.

The Category Management Team is a critical function on the Kenvue-Walmart Team; responsible for building, developing, and leading a partnership with Walmart as a Category Captain. As the Senior Category Insights Analyst, you will have the opportunity to work with the Senior Category Insights Manager to shape category growth plans based on key data, shopper and category insights and trends.  This individual should have strong analytical skills, collaboration, project leadership, and demonstrate thought leadership.  This individual will serve as a category expert, working with the Manger to lead assortment assessments, business processes and have tool capabilities across key shopper / category systems such as POS, Syndicated Data, JDA Space Planning Software.  This person should be able to operate in a high level fast paced, complex, and changing business environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide outstanding support to Walmart Merchandising during the modular relay process and provide insightful weekly reporting to the customer
  • Provide unbiased strategic and tactical insights and recommendations to Walmart Merchant on Distribution, Shelving, Merchandising, Pricing, & Promotional opportunities to improve category performance instore and online.
  • Uncover business opportunities with analytics using a category toolkit including, but not limited to: POS/ Retail Link, Syndicated Data, Marketplace & HH Panel Assessments, Luminate and Ad/Promotion Review
  • Work with internal Shopper/Category partners on research opportunities: provide voice-of-customer, facilitate research projects, and activate findings to be customer-specific
  • Influence and execute the modular activation of merchandising improvements, efficient assortment, and clustering solutions
  • Develop and share best practices to enhance the entire category management team

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications 

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required
  • Minimum of (2) years in CPG industry – customer analytics, customer insights, category management and/or shopper insights for consumer or relevant business experience is required
  • Deep analytical expertise and experience working with Retail Link/ Luminate syndicated data, panel data, shopper-card data, and other research is required
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships required.

Desired Qualifications

  • Deep analytical expertise and experience working with JDA Pro Space
  • Fluent in interpreting shopper and category insights research and a strong understanding of syndicated data (IRI or Nielsen) and panel data (e.g. Numerator)
  • Knowledge of computer technology, analytical software programs (PowerBI, Numerator, Alteryx) MS Office Suite and database management, including development of queries and assessment of data to draw accurate conclusions
  • Ability to develop and manage project plans and to implement, execute and draw conclusions from a variety of customer, category and shopper studies
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to tailor skills and presentation style to a variety of key decision makers is required
  • Ability to understand, interpret and communicate complex information across multiple levels is required
  • Ability to develop and oversee the execution of project plans and to implement, execute and draw conclusions from a variety of customer, shopper and category studies is required Experience with space planning software is required
  • Working experience with Walmart is preferred
  • This position will be located in Rogers, Arkansas and will require up to 15% domestic travel
